My Team Roles

My Team

  • Leyon Stolz-Hunter
  • Michael Phillips
  • Tyrell Chetty-Wilson
  • Shayne Thomas-Gordon

As my team consisted of four people it meant that we had to work as individuals to keep the project running and also as a team, this means that although we each had our set roles, we also had to take on other roles in order to get everything done and also to keep the ideas fresh.  we did this through communication within school and outside of school so that we are constantly working on the project and also being on hand to help out each other when help is required.

I feel that as a team we will be able to work around any difficulties we may encounter and also to balance the project with our other A-level subjects.

Job roles of my team and I

Leyon Stolz-Hunter(actor,co script writer): My main role on the team was to play the role of the main protagonist, we decide this as a team based on the fact that I had plenty of acting experience and was also the taking my second year of performing arts. as an actor I had to follow the script but alot of improvisation was required as I had to take drawings on a paper and turn them to actions in real life, I felt that I was more than adequate for this role because of my experience. I also took on the role of co script writer , my job was to help formulate the narrative of our music video and also to give it some padding so it seemed to have a sense of realism within it. I feel that I had a heavy role within the narrative of the music video and contributed many of the ideas .

Michael Phillips(script writer, director): Michael's main role was as director, this was due to Michaels experience as director last year with our AS project. Michael also helped to aid our project by donating his camera for us to use for filming. In addition he also had a massive contribution to the music videos script  by advising us on what direction to go with our music video and also provided many of the ideas.

Tyrell Chetty-Wilson(actor, main camera operator): Tyrell's role is very similar to mine by means of him also being an actor. He would play the role of the protagonists friend, his character was pivotal to the videos conclusion. We chose Tyrell as he also had a lot of  acting experience and was in his first year of performing arts therefore he would be perfect for the role. He also played the role of camera operator therefore had to work on the camera and make sure we got the perfect shots.

Shayne Thomas-Gordon(script writer,co director): Shayne's main role was as script writer and storyboard sketcher as he take A level art and would best fit this role. he also had a large contribution to the idea and his input was in valuable. Shayne also had the role of co director as he had previous experience behind the camera and also due to his large input in script writing knew what he wanted.

Relapse: The Album

Relapse is Eminem's sixth studio album and it was released on May 15th 2009, It came out after a four year hiatus in which the rapper had drug addiction problems and writers block. The album was produced by Eminem , Dr Dre and Mark Batson. The album came soon after Eminem's drug rehabilitation, his second divorce with Kimberly Scott and the death of his close friend DeShaun 'Proof' Holton.
The album sort of follows a narrative, which talks about his drug rehabilitation, him rapping after his non-fictional relapse and the return of Slim Shady. The album starts off with a skit in which we see untrustworthy drug counselor forces Eminem back into his drug addiction and the return to his slim shady character. The album then goes to Eminem explaining the reasons behind his drug problem, the album the goes onto slag off other celebrities who have had rehab problems and also talks about controversial topics. In the skit 'Mr Mathers' we see Eminem being recovered to a hospital where he looks back at the time during his drug problem and his dependency upon the sleeping pills. Eminem then brings in the song beautiful in which Eminem gets rid of the slim shady persona and talks about there being hope when you are in a dark place.
The album had positive critical response and it went to number 1 in nine different countries however many said that this was not quite the return of form that people were expecting. the album overall still did really well within the charts.
